WAYRA

Wayra, inspired by the Quechua word for "wind," embodies freedom, grace, and connection with nature. This sailboat merges tradition with innovation, crafted to move effortlessly with the wind, offering a harmonious and sustainable sailing experience that captures the pure essence of the wind.

In today’s world, enjoying the sea and sailing sustainably is more important than ever. Although sailing vessels are significantly less polluting than motorized boats, sales of recreational sailboats are not growing as expected, unlike the booming market for internal combustion engine boats. This stagnation prompts designers to ask: What are we missing? How can we overcome this inertia? The answer lies in balancing innovation with tradition. Designing a sailboat requires compromises, but this doesn’t mean we can’t challenge established norms to meet modern market demands. Enter Wayra, a sailboat designed for non-sailors. Wayra offers a blend of spacious interiors and versatile outdoor areas for unforgettable experiences. Its design features multiple external levels: a sea bath from the stern, navigation in the central cockpit, outdoor dining, or relaxation in the forward hot tub. The high bulwarks and tiered levels ensure privacy and distinct zones for various activities. The interior is thoughtfully arranged over two levels. It accommodates six guests in the stern, including a master cabin accessible from a private deck entrance or from inside, and two VIP cabins. The central living area merges modern design with classic touches, featuring large windows and a full-height door that integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing guests to enjoy tranquility without disconnecting from the surroundings. At the bow, Wayra offers a choice between a cinema room or an additional VIP cabin, depending on the owner’s preference. The crew area includes the captain’s cabin and accommodations for six crew members in three well-equipped cabins, plus a crew mess and a galley with ample storage, large ovens, and a refrigeration system. Wayra’s design focuses on maximizing comfort and functionality across different levels, providing a unique sailing experience that combines luxury with the magic of the sea.
